The
struggle against apartheid has been one of the great social movements of the
past two decades, and like most social movements it has also had its press.
Of course there were earlier movements against apartheid, also with their press,
but it is the one under focus here which was victorious. Ironically, once this
most recent movement against apartheid succeeded, it proved unable to take its
specialist press into the post-apartheid era.
